World Chinese Entrepreneur Scholarship
The World Chinese Entrepreneurs Scholarship Program aims to help and encourage our young future leaders. It is for outstanding young achievers who need financial help and deserve further encouragement. It is open to all students. Whether you are a student or a donor that may be interested in contributing to this great cause, please find additional information on our donor links page or our applicants’ page.
This scholarship program began in 2007 is to commemorate 10th anniversary of 3 events :(1) 4th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention held in Vancouver, BC in 1997, (2) 10th year anniversary return of Hong Kong to China in 1997, (3) Asia-Pacific- Economic- Cooperation (APEC) Summit held in Vancouver, Canada in 1997. And (4) the 20th anniversary of the purchase of EXPO 86 Land by a group of world Chinese entrepreneurs leaded by Mr. Li Ka-Shing that helped Vancouver develop into a world class city.

十二年前的五月, 在三級政府, CIBC銀行為首和協平世博地產發展公司等贊助機構, 林思齊前省督, 各位名譽顧問及中西社會各界人士、商會、社團的共同團結努力支持下, 第四屆世界華商大會競投團成員黃威,章子惠,宋燕華,高士美,在第四屆世界華商大會創辦人兼加拿大中華總商會創會會長黃國裕的領導下, 成功為加拿大溫哥華勇奪1997年第四屆世界華商大會主辦權。而十年前的今日, 1997年8日28日在加拿大華商界有史以來最具規模, 意義，經濟效益和歷史性的第四屆世界華商大會在溫哥華圓滿成功舉行了, 為加拿大吸引了超過一千五百多位來自世界各地的華商投資者。
第四屆世界華商大會加拿大創辦發展會為繼續世界華商精神, 近幾年來, 每年均成功推薦在卑詩省經營生意傑出的華商, 競選榮獲「卑詩省新加拿大企業家大獎」, 藉此表揚他們的成就, 讓主流社會知道華商們也積極地為加拿大經濟發展而貢獻; 更可成為新舊華人移民的榜樣, 藉此鼓勵他們發奮。
今日為慶祝三項重要「十週年紀念」和一項「二十週年紀念」活動 (1. 第四屆世界華商大會於1997年在加拿大溫哥華舉行十週年; 2. 香港於1997年回歸中國十週年; 3. 亞太經濟高峰會於1997年在加拿大溫哥華舉行十週年; 4. 由李嘉誠先生為首的世界華商於1987年購進加拿大溫哥華世博會址二十週年), 進一步發揚世界華商精神, 本會宣佈創立「世界華商獎學金」, 讓來自世界各地的溫哥華華商回饋社會, 資助獎學金計劃以幫助及鼓勵有需要之傑出成就年青學子,盡表綿力, 栽培他們成為未來社會領袖人材, 獎學金計劃分三類:
(一) 學業社區服務及領導才能獎
(二) 傑出才藝獎
(三) 企業精神獎
每項獎學金每位由加幣一千元至三千元不等, 現時獎學金總金額已超過一萬多元, 並會繼續累積增加, 有關所有獎學金資料和申請詳情公佈於:
